Complete Guide to Visiting Legoland in Winter Haven, Florida

Legoland Florida

Even though Legoland is not quite in the heart of Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort theme park locations, it is but a mere 45 minutes from Tampa and Orlando. If you want to be among the first visitors of the day, the parking lot opens about 45 minutes before the gates to Legoland open. There is a charge for the parking lot based on the location and type of vehicle in which you arrive.

The fun-filled day begins at 10:00 a.m. when Legoland opens and ends, on most days, at 5:00 p.m. When there are some visitors, such as on holidays, weekends, and during the summer, the park stays open a bit later. Certain off-season times of the year, Legoland may close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It is always an excellent idea to check the park's hours for the days you will be visiting.

Cypress Gardens Adventure Park

The property on which Legoland sits is where Cypress Gardens formerly existed. There is an area dedicated to the former park, however. In 2017, Cypress Gardens Adventure Park reopened after being closed for two years.

Cypress Gardens opened in 1936 but became extremely popular during the 50s and 60s. During those years, the park's world-famous skiing shows wowed audiences with their spectacular water-skiing expertise. Now, thanks to a new owner, the gardens are a modern attraction that includes rides, classic water ski shows, and other family attractions. The park has four roller coasters, two water rides, and many rides for small children.

Legoland Tips

1. Maps are always the most useful tools for those visiting Legoland and its surrounding attractions.

2. You can go and come during your day at the park if you retain your parking receipt.

3. Plan your shopping budget and visit stores on your way out of Legoland. You don't want to be lugging shopping bags filled with Legos around all day.

4. You can trade Minifigures at the park. Legoland employees will swap figures with your kids, allowing them to have a souvenir and a memory, as well.

5. Legoland is a friendly park, and not as overwhelming as other Orlando parks. Let your kids decide what to do and when to do it. Believe us. It will make your visit even more enjoyable.
